A SUMMER DAY at Grandfather Mtn 😂 This is what I love about this mountain….it’s beautiful, raw, rugged! Fifteen minutes before filming this video we were having a lovely summer drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was warm, the sun was shining, and the views were mind boggling. But the top of Grandfather was in the clouds! The temperature was in the upper 50s, the wind was howling with gusts close to 50mph, and well, like you see in the video…zero visibility. But, if you watched the video till the end you know @bbarter2 still had an absolute blast! This place has been a special place to me for over 25 years. It was my introduction to Western NC’s beauty, in particular the beautiful Profile Trail! So, it’s always nice to be back no matter the weather. If you are in the Grandfather Mountain area these are our top recommendations: 1. Walk across the swinging bridge 2. Hit the ladders on the Grandfather Trail 3. See the animals at the wildlife habitats on Grandfather Mtn 4. Visit Rough Ridge (sunrise in particular) 5. Do the short hike at Beacon Heights 6.
