Y’all ever have a gajillion things on your to-do list, but still take on more tasks, because you have this never ending urge to help others? Because you can’t just say no? Heck, I volunteer to do things without being asked, knowing I dang well shouldn’t. I am a serious people pleaser. I know it’s okay to say no. I know I don’t have to take on more, but I tend to measure my worth in accomplishments. I have recently learned people pleasing is a trauma response. I’m not surprised given the recent discovery and repressed memories coming back from my upbringing. How in the heck do you get out of this mindset? How do you heal from this? Growth and healing were on the ticket from my 2023 New Years resolutions/intentions. I have grown a lot, but still have a long way to go, so it may have to be included for 2024 😉 Have y’all started to thinking about that yet?
