Lexsey McLemore, 16, says she loves to use poetry to express her emotions. 💛 She recently wrote a poem to show others who are going through a hard time that there is “always a rainbow after the rain.” “What I mean by that is the hard times are nothing compared to the blessings to come,” she said. “I am very profound in my faith and I wouldn’t have this mindset without my God.” Lexsey wants other children to feel inspired by her words and understand that it’s ok not to be ok. “It’s okay to cry and have bad days as long as you don’t dwell in them,” she said. “You can find purpose in the pain. Life is all about perspective. I think one of the hardest parts in this journey is finding peace in your situation and with the prognosis. And most importantly finding peace with yourself and faith. Once I realized that the only way to face this is head on, I found peace with my situation and faith. Cancer sucks, but God is so much greater. Find the good in each day because tomorrow is never promised.” Swipe to read Lexsey’s powerful poem! #ChildhoodCancerAwarenessMonth #EraseKidCancer #BlastAwayCancer
