Does your entire personality change when you sit down in a chair? No? Me neither. Sure disability has changed me: I’m more empathetic and caring, more innovative and better at problem solving, and I am more grateful & full of joy than ever. BUT I am still JUST KELCIE. Disabled people are just people. We’re just like you. We might just happen to use a wheelchair, or a guide dog, or a prosthetic limb - but we’re still just people like everyone else. The diversity of human experience still exists within the disability community. We are as unique and different and individual as the rest of the world.
