How to Prepare + Cook the Perfect Burger The perfect burger for me is Medium Rare… Here’s how I prepare my burger to reach my favorite doneness and sear — perfectly pink in the middle with a flavor and a little crust. 1\. Choose a quality meat (I sourced this meat from @whiteoakpastures — BAE10 for 10% off) 2\. I make my patties into 1/4 pound burgers 3\. I blot my burgers with a towel to soak up some of the liquid (this helps with a crispier outside) 4\. I make a thumbprint in the center for a more even cook. 5\. I salt it about 40 minutes before I place it on the grill. I cook my 1/4 pound burgers about 3 min each side. I use @schwankgrills for all my grilling needs! This grill is restaurant quality and can heat up to 1500 degrees. So, if you are using a traditional grill that only heats up to 600 degrees, you’ll need to cook it longer.
