Plastic waste flowing into the oceans is expected to nearly triple in volume in the next 20 years… so today, just sharing a powerful image to stay motivated to say no to plastic and to remember that the fossil fuel industry is pushing plastic onto us. In the midst of this energy transition, plastics, which are made from fossil fuels, is the plan B for the fossil fuel industry. RESIST! 🙅🏼‍♀️      Global plastics production doubled from 2000 to 2019 to reach 460 million tonnes. Annual production of fossil fuel-based plastics is set to top 1.2 billion tonnes by 2060 and waste to exceed 1 billion tonnes. By 2050 plastic is expected to account for 5%-10% of greenhouse gas emissions… so if you think skipping single use and as many plastics as you can doesn’t count. Think again.
