So here’s the next new painting update, in photo form this time. Having placed the aircraft on the canvas, it was clear that the background was too light and weak. To correct this, I’ve strengthened the blue haze to the horizon and reworked the left side clouds. I’m now at the point where I need to decide what to do with the right side of the painting. My ‘inspiration’ this morning (with fresh eyes) is to cut it back a bit but to create a visual curve to the left and then repaint the lead Hurricane into a higher bank to the left so that the formation is turning towards the left of the picture rather than flying behind the cloud on the right of the picture. It’s a big change but I think it will make the picture more dynamic. We shall see! #hawkerhurricane #battleofbritain #royalairforce #aviationart #acryliconcanvas
