My New England Fall Foliage Calendar. 🗓️Late September to Early October: This is the toughest time to plan. If the foliage is late, you’ll have to hunt around for foliage in these spots. Northeast Kingdom, Vermont, Great North Woods, NH & the Crown of Maine. 🗓️Early October: Towards the end of the first week of October, the Spine of the Green Mountains Vermont and the NEK should be kicking into high gear. Franconia Notch and the northern White White Mountains will also be blazing with color. Over in Maine, Rangeley and other areas in the northern parts of the state. 🗓️Early to Mid October: Columbus Day Weekend is usually an amazing time to see the foliage. By this weekend, Central Vermont is colorful and others areas along Rt 100 are still looking good. The Kanc and the White Mountains are likely at peak and will attract the crowds. In Maine, Baxter State Park and Grafton Notch are great spots to be. 🗓️Mid October: The northern parts of New England are fading but Central and Southern Vermont should be looking good. By now the color has moved past the Whites into the Lakes Region. This is the time to visit Lake Winnipesaukee. In Maine, Acadia National Park should be starting its color show. Massachusetts starts to get into high color territory. Places like the Berkshires and Central Mass will be alive with color. 🗓️Mid to late October: The high colors are getting close to the coast. Now is the time to see beautiful colors in Coastal and Southern Maine. Places like Camden and the mid coast will be looking good. Southern New Hampshire and Central Mass will be experiencing high color. Finally, the Boston suburbs are seeing lots of color. 🗓️Late October: Northern New England is likely in stick season with the first snowfalls. What’s left is the New Hampshire Seacoast like Portsmouth along with metro Boston. In fact many places just outside of Boston will be at peak. 🗓️Early November: The first week of November brings peak foliage to Boston. The Public Garden, Boston Common, the South End and Back Bay finally join the party. Cape Cod should also be colorful as well. #newenglandfall #fallinnewengland #newenglandtravel #fallfoliage #mynewengland
