No Sleep til Woodstock. Your Woodstock, Vermont Fall Itinerary. No Sleepy Hollow No Problem. As mentioned yesterday Cloudland Road will be closed but Woodstock is still one of the iconic fall foliage spots in New England. Closing the road is a good thing as it gives the residents a break and pushes people to explore the area’s beautiful public places and local business. I’ve visited Woodstock many times and in different seasons so I have some ideas on what you can do and where you can take photos while in the area this fall. I guarantee you will come away with many instagram worthy fall photos. Here’s your fall itinerary for Woodstock. 📍Walk around the town itself. The small business are wonderful and there’s a bunch of pumpkin lined fences with wonderful fall decorations. 📍Have a picnic on the Village Green. The red maples across from the green turn a fiery red and there’s often fairs. Head to the Woodstock Farmers Market to pick up sandwiches, salads and snacks. 📍Visit the covered bridges in the area, including the famed Middle Covered Bridge and Tafstville Covered Bridge. The rebuilt Quechee Bridge is also picturesque and the nearby park is another great picnic spot. 📍Spend time at a farm like Billings Farm or Sugarbush Farm. 📍Walk or hike in Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park. Hike to the Pogue or hike Mount Tom trail. 📍 Visit Quechee Gorge and take in the view from the bridge. 📍Fly a hawk or owl at New England Falconry 📍Visit the VINS Nature Center An awesome place to walk through the canopy of trees. There’s a number of boardwalks and elevated boardwalks. 📍Hike Mount Peg 📍Get lost on the backroads. Take a wrong turn and you may just find wonderful views. If you do stop to snap a picture, put your hazards on and pull all the way over and be respectful of private property. 🍴Where to Eat?
