[Official Opening of Joo Seng Fire Post with Lifesavers’ Connect Zone] The Joo Seng Fire Post (JSFP) with the first Lifesavers’ Connect Zone (LCZ) co-located with it, was officially opened today (5 Sep) by Assoc Prof Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of National Development. Located at Blk 9 Joo Seng Road, the JSFP provides emergency response to fire, rescue and emergency medical incidents around the Macpherson-Woodleigh area. SCDF now has a network of 23 fire stations and 28 fire posts providing islandwide emergency services coverage. At the LCZ which features interactive kiosks, members of the public can engage in self-directed learning or hands-on practice on lifesaving skills. These skills include Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Improvised First Aid Skills, and In-Place Protection procedures. In our vision to build #ANationOfLifesavers, SCDF will continue to deepen public engagement and increase touch-points in the heartlands for our community to learn emergency preparedness skills by co-locating more LCZs with fire posts in the near future.
