[Mass Fire Evacuation Drill Closing Ceremony 2023] Yesterday (26 Sep), CDG ZIG Holdings Pte Ltd hosted the annual Mass Fire Evacuation Drill (MFED) closing ceremony at their premises. Organised by the @nfec.sg and supported by the SCDF, the event marked the end of the month-long campaign to promote fire safety and emergency preparedness in commercial and industrial buildings, as well as public buildings. As part of the closing ceremony, a fire evacuation drill was conducted at the Comfort Transportation Building along Sin Ming Drive. The drill included a simulated fire scenario in the car workshop equipment area which saw the Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) spring into action as the first line of response before the arrival of the SCDF. Subsequently, the CERT worked together with SCDF to continue the firefighting operation and casualty evacuation. Since its inception in 2004, the MFED campaign has garnered overwhelming support. This year, more than 89,000 participants from over 400 industrial and commercial premises, as well as educational institutions have conducted the fire evacuation drill in the month of September. MFEDs are pivotal in testing and validating the premises’ response plans and evacuation procedures, as well as the joint response and interoperability between different stakeholders during an emergency. #ANationofLifesavers @cdgtaxi
