#SRSAM23 : One of the most important moments of today was the historical lecture given by Dr Oheneba Boachie Adjei, from Ghana. Dr Boachie Adjei (@profboachie ), who worked at the Hospital for Special Surgery in USA for a long time, mentored us all and is known as the most important complex spinal surgery specialist in the world. He guided us with his teachings and showed us that all the difficult surgeries we do today can be actually performed. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to work beside him in the operating room for a few cases both abroad and in Turkey and to witness his abilities firsthand. One of the day's most notable aspects was that Doctor Boachie Adjei delivered his lecture with the title of prince given to him in Ghana and wearing the local prince's outfit. Another important event of the day was the life time achievement award presented to Dr Douglas Burton, whom I met while working as an assistant with Prof Dr Marc Asher at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in the United States. The reason I love Dr. Burton is not only because he is a very good doctor, but also because he is a wonderful person. Of course, the fact that we were both trained by Dr. Mark Asher is a significant point of connection.
