Daniel Palma Robledo detenido desaparecido el 4 de agosto 1976. Este es mi abuelo que solo conocí cuando mi memoria no almacenaba imágenes o olores a los cuales tuviera ahora acceso. Fue llevado a la villa Grimaldi, y luego al cuartel de exterminio Simón Bolívar para ser salvajemente torturado, asesinado y hecho desaparecer 💔 Lo que si recuerdo es la incasable lucha de mi abuela con la foto que se ponía en el pecho para ir a manifestar, así como el silencio que envolvía la ausencia del "viejo". Por que en mi casa, desde el exilio, no se hablo de esto. Hasta ahora. Hace menos de 2 meses, por fin se hizo justicia, y con la sentencia de los culpables salieron del closet los fantasmas, brotaron las lágrimas y se abrieron las manos con las que nos sostenemos. 50 años después visualizó un chile unido firmemente en los valores inalienables que algún día perdimos: la democracia y los derechos humanos. #Nuncamas #11septiembre1973 . . . This is my grand father: Daniel Palma Robledo, he was taken august 4th, 1976 by Pinochet’s secret police, la DINA. I only met him briefly, way before I could file away any images or smells of him. He was taken to Villa Grimaldi, a well know center of detention and then to the extermination quarters of Simon Bolivar to be savagely tortured, killed and made dissapear💔 What I do remember is my grandmother’s relentless fight to find out what had happened to him, marching in the streets with a picture of him pinned close to her heart. As well as the silence that surrounded this event in our home, in exile here in the US. We did not really talk about it. Until now. Less than 2 months ago sentence was made by the Judicial Chilean system, and along with justice the ghosts came out of the closet, tears flowed, and the hands with which we support each other opened. On the 50th anniversary of Pinochet’s Military coup, my wish is that we chilean can stand united by values, that were once lost, but today we hold as inalienable: democracy and human rights. #neveragain #11september1973
