That’s my first baby installed at Uni. I coped! To be honest, I cried enough yesterday to last a good while - the build up is MUCH worse than the reality. It helps that she’s so happy; I’m excited for her. This business of parenting is so hard. She’s got everything I dreamed of on that first night when I held her in my arms. So we’ve done a great job together. You could call it a success. We want independence for our kids, but it’s so painful for us to let go. It’s the thing I hear most from parents - how do I let them grow up? This is how. Take equal amounts of pain and pride, and let them fly. It’s easier, despite the tears. #parentingteens #grownandflown #emptynest
