“Two crows flew along the shore, by the chestnuts, above and below, one seen against the water and one seen against the grass, one black against the lake and one the shadow of the other on the ground.”   This note by Donald Judd was written at Eichholteren, a former restaurant and hotel in Küssnacht am Rigi, Switzerland. Built in 1943, the building was renovated by Judd to include artwork, furniture, and architectural design.     Collaborating with Zürich-based architect Adrian Jolles, Judd made a number of architectural interventions within the multi-story building. In an interview Judd described the relationship of the interventions at Eichholteren to those at 101 Spring Street: “On the fourth floor there is a wooden floor and a wooden ceiling that make two identical, parallel planes. I did that in Eichholteren in Switzerland.
