The power is in the truth and refinement is always necessary to adjust to the consumption of new information. The politics behind the wrong individuals abusing and manipulating power is what we are experiencing today with a tense power dynamic over the psychological and sociological effects on the impressionable youth. Yesterday at the height of the free base epidemic love was still the message, but today it is in the hands of evil people with sick intentions. Hustlers, dimes, skeezers, stick-up kids, athletes, actors, promoters, comedians, writers, boosters, and poor righteous teachers all partied together in our beloved metropolitan insane asylum called home aka Pre Bike Lane NYC. There was a moment in history boys and girls where the DJ along with exceptionally captivating dancers had more acclaim than the emcee on the microphone. Nobody that walked through the doors of the Rooftop, Union Square, LQ or Mars would ever dispute the reality that the dancers had the power at the apex of the city’s nightlife and your favorite aunties probably got explicit albums full of pics to prove it. The circle of love was the real show folks and whoever had the floor earned the power to control the attention of the room. Peace to the foundation that choreographed your favorite old school music videos and brought what was happening in the clubs to the big screen when new artists needed more exciting visuals for boring treatments. Hot dog, Donovan, Stretch, Marquest and Scoob definitely had the power in the circles. The nightlife in our city was unmatched and even before Peter redefined the clubbing experience we had some of the most illustrious speak easy situations pre 9/11 thanks Rudy, smh.
