In regards to this controversial sub-genre of gangsta rap music only four lyrical emcees in the history of the art-form actually lived the dangerous lifestyle while simultaneously exhibiting the most prolific levels of lyricism that often get overlooked by so called culture driven media outlets. Bar for bar without sensationalism or analytic validation us here at Albee Square Mall will like to acknowledge Cormega, Styles P, Billy Danze and our own Saratoga phenom Slap aka Fizzy aka Malik’s brother Fame for the rawest art that spoke to the times. The most complex cadences, vocabularies, metaphors, and genuine emotion was poured into trauma inspired poetry while exhibiting a range of rhythmic techniques from the perspective of authentic live wires on the block with something to prove to any non-believer with commercial success. All four of these gentleman share a deep respect for the culture and are overly competitive artists that sparred with some of the most iconic ever to make music. Conservatives often criticized the intent behind the raw content while judging our brothers instead of asking the question “Why” they took the stance that they did being the voices of the voiceless troublemakers that society frowns upon.
