Today, the #USASOC Deputy Commanding General, Maj. Gen. Patrick Roberson and the 1st Special Forces Commander, Brig. Gen. Lawrence Ferguson, officially recognized Mr. Ellsworth Johnson as a Green Beret. Mr. Johnson was presented a Special Forces tab and a green beret, symbolizing his remarkable contributions and unwavering dedication to the Regiment and our Nation. During #WWII, Mr. Johnson served as a member of the Office of Strategic Services Operational Group (OSSOG), a precursor to what would one day become U.S. Army Special Operations. He served in an OG in both France and China, including parachute insertions in both countries. In France, he was on Operational Group PATRICK, and in China, he was assigned to the 2nd Chinese Commando where he parachuted into occupied territory as part of the BLUEBERRY mission. Johnson is believed to be the last living member of the OSSOG. As a result of his service as a member of the OSSOG, he is qualified to become a member of the Special Forces Regiment. #greenberets #SOF #ARSOFHistory
