Just restocked the fridges at home (both the food fridge and the mini fridge at the wet bar). Restocking fridges in an Asian household is not something fancy or Instagrammable no matter how clean and OCD they are (unless they are a rich Asian)—we just put the grocery we bought in the fridge in its original container/packaging, and that’s it. Eggs stay in the egg carton; strawberries stay in their box; and milk stays in its carton. The reason why we don’t transfer grocery items into different storage containers is not that we are eco-friendly—simply because we are not. It’s just that putting grocery in another container means more dishwasher loads, more dishwashing pods, higher water bill, higher sewage charge, higher electricity bill, and ultimately more money to waste.
