Thank you, thank you, thank you! Over 2,500 people - parents, caregivers, education workers, friends, faith leaders, community, and labour allies - showed up yesterday to make it clear that, like all students, trans students deserve to have the space at school to be their authentic selves. Here are some beautiful and powerful reminders we spotted yesterday. History has shown us shown that when we fight together, we will win. Yesterday reiterated the importance of community organizing. It reminded us of the joy and resilience that exist even amid a growing storm. Together we can, and together we will. We are sadly not out of the woods yet. Continue to keep each other safe. Stay vigilant and support upcoming counter-protests. Tomorrow, Friday, September 22, anti-trans groups are marching to two schools near Scarborough and North York. This is part of the broader anti-trans push we're seeing play out in suburban areas as well. Join the ‘Defend Trans Kids’ counter-protest tomorrow, 10:30am onwards at Wallingford Rd. and Cassandra Blvd. The 519 is not organizing this event.
