Blue Ribbon Angel Food Cake! I took my friend @jessiesheehanbakes, who is an incredible baker and quintessential New Yorker to the @MNStateFair to film today’s episode of Zoë Bakes on @MagnoliaNetwork! The whole state essentially shuts down for the last week of the summer and we all head to the fairgrounds. It’s a sea of humanity and food-on-a-stick. We did the rides and found inspiration from the blue-ribbon-winning baker, @candy_bakesmn! Her Angel Food Cake took first place and it was GORGEOUS. Light as air and perfectly tall. I love Angel Food plain and simple, but Jessie introduced me to a fruit studded whipped cream covered version that won my heart and pretty much ruined me to any other way. We also had Birthday Cake Paletas from @lamichoacanarose, the perfect frozen treat to cool us down on a hot day. What does a crazy baker do after a full day at the FAIR? BAKE, of course!!
