Обелиск Победы в Твери был установлен в честь 29 годовщины освобождения города от немецко-фашистских захватчиков, 16 декабря 1970 года. Обелиск высотой 45,5 метров закреплён на монолитном железобетонном фундаменте, увенчан рострами и факельной чашей огня Победы, на плоскостях находятся 8 прикреплённых консольно- медных плит с барельефами и текстами, посвящёнными подвигам героев фронта и тыла. Факел для Обелиска Победы был зажжен в Москве от Вечного огня у могилы Неизвестного солдата. The Victory Obelisk in Tver was erected to commemorate the 29th anniversary of the city's liberation from Nazi invaders on 16 December 1970. The obelisk, 45.5 metres high, is fixed on a monolithic reinforced concrete foundation, topped with rostras and the torch bowl of the Victory flame, on the planes there are 8 attached cantilevered copper plates with bas-reliefs and texts dedicated to the exploits of heroes of the front and rear.
