As adults who take on a plant based or vegan diet, we are told that we should regularly get health checks, including our blood. Do we need to do this? Or for our children? Well, the answer is not really. It’s not mandatory here in the UK, and as long as you know you’re giving your children a varied nutrient rich diet with appropriate supplementation, then it doesn’t need to be a worry. Children’s tastes, preferences and appetite can change over time. My top tips are: - focus on healthy fats - do not fear fortified white bread or pasta to ensure energy requirements are met especially for picky eaters and toddlers - use unsweetened fortified soy or pea based plant milks for good protein, b12, calcium, iodine and vitamin d content - keep yummy options in the house like home made energy balls, hummus, carrot and cucumber sticks, nuts, seeds and dried fruits for energy dense snacks 🌱💚 Watch the full episode with @ellenfisher over on YouTube!
