💥Knee Pain - Meniscus Rehab💥(Full program in @theptinitiative bio link...) . . 🙌🏽Happy Monday! Let’s talk about meniscus injuries and knee pain! -— 😫I get asked a lot if meniscus tears can heal on their own. There are two zones in the meniscus referred to as the “red zone” and “white zone”. The outer portion called the red zone has blood supply and healing potential, whereas the inner portion called the white zone does not have the same natural healing potential. —— ✅There is so much we could go into when it comes to surgery vs conservative care, and I always recommend you consult with your physician and rehab professional in making those decisions. But in many cases surgery is not your only option. There is a LOT you can do through rehab and conservative care. —— 🔥When it comes to strengthening in the presence of a meniscus injury, a major focus of mine is building single leg strength and dynamic stability of the knee. Oftentimes deep knee flexion and knee rotation are irritating to an injured meniscus. So these movements work on slowly building up tolerance to these positions, and give you a strong foundation around the knee. —— 🎯Another big focus is restoring quad strength and end range knee extension. -— 👍All of these main criteria are demonstrated in the exercises in today’s post! -— 📢Find this helpful?
