For more on Food, Recipes, Lifestyle and Travel FOLLOW @toast_to_taste Prep - Washed and soaked whole black gram (Sabut Urad Dal) - Tomato Puree - Peeled Ginger & Garlic and blended in a paste - Fresh Cream Ingredients 200 gms soaked black lentil (sabut urad dal) 3 tbsp Garlic water 5 Medium Tomatoes = 1 1/2 Cup Purée 1 1/2 Tbs Ginger Garlic Paste ¼ cup butter for cooking and ¼ cup for the tempering water as required Salt – to taste Garnishing 2 tsp of Cream Few Cubes of Butter . Process 1. Soak urad dal, overnight and wash it by scrubbing it together a few times. 2.In a heavy bottom pot add dal and garlic water and let it cook for at least for 1.5 hours on a low flame (keep removing the white scum that comes at the top of the dal). 3. Once dal is cooked and broken down add butter (white butter/unsalted butter) into it. 4. Keep stirring and mixing the Dal. . For tempering 1.Heat ghee in a pan, add ginger garlic paste, degi red chili powder, tomato puree (you can use fresh or canned). 2. Sauté till the tomato puree is well cooked and leaves Ghee on the side. 3. Add kasuri methi (dry fenugreek leaves) by crushing it between your palms and give it a mix. 4. Add the tempering to cooked dal and mix and mash the dal . 5. Add 1/4 Cup more butter and salt to it and cook until well combined. 6.
