No more loose screws here🤪 But on a serious note, I have been counting the days until this moment. I look back at myself 6 1/2 months ago and I am so proud of where I’m at in this journey today. I have felt every emotion from frustration, regret, disappointment, fear, and anger to excitement, pride and hope. However, during this long road I learned a lot about who I am with and without dance and grew more than I could have ever imagined. It took courage to admit this is what I needed for me/my body, courage to get the surgery without knowing the outcome, and courage and belief to commit to making an even stronger comeback. It was one of life’s hardest lessons for me so far but it taught me to trust fully in God’s plan without always knowing the why. This journey is not completely over yet, but before it started I made a promise to myself that this one experience and set back wouldn’t define me. I’m not going to lie, at times, it was beyond hard to keep staying positive and see the light at the end of the tunnel. Sharing my journey was a way to help me not only process this experience, but help to inspire others who were going through the same or similar injuries. No one of us is defined by what we do, but we are defined by who we are and how we respond to the things life throws at us. My biggest lessons through this are to believe in yourself, never give up hope and always work for what you want. Now it’s time to put in the work to come back even stronger.
