👶🏻BEGINNER🐣LOW BACK EXERCISES You’ll see plenty of Jefferson curls and zercher deadlifts to strengthen the back. And those are AWESOME drills. But, they are for advanced lifters. The med ball rollout, suitcase carry, and reverse hyperextension are exercises that are more suitable for beginners. The med ball rollout helps to improve lumbar flexion, while doing so under minimal load. The ball offers tactile feedback, and promotes a “rolling” pattern rather than a “falling” pattern, which is a bit safer imo. The Suitcase Carry creates anti rotational stability. An essential for a strong core. The Reverse Hyperextension. While it’s controversial to call this a beginner exercise, it does open itself to beginner variations. This is also one of the best ways to start exposing direct lumbar extension.
