MY FAVORITE DEADLIFT CUE 🧀 Ok before we get to the fun part, I need to add some nuance. 1) Bending your low back is NOT INHERENTLY BAD. But it is weaker than hinging. 2) Bending your low back is SAFE, but you learn how to drive in the subdivision before you get on the nascar track. Establish a strong hinge before you start worrying about lower back mobility under load (exercises like Jefferson curls, Zerchers, etc.) Ok cool. Being able to recruit your entire posterior chain is a super underrated skill. Often times, people neglect the hips and hamstrings and only “lift with their backs” by bending instead of hinging. Unfortunately the two look similar.
