CORE STRENGTH Want a strong core? 💪 What is the “core”? The role of the core is to stabilize our spine, so it makes 0 sense to think the core only involves the superficial ab muscles on the front! You have likely only been targeting 1/4 of the muscles if that’s the case! Muscles involved in CORE STABILITY -rectus abdominis -internal & external obliques -transversus abdominis -multifidus & erector spinae (back muscles) -the diaphragm & pelvic floor muscles! This exercise helps target the entire core! Our hips help lift us from the floor, our low back muscles stabilize us and prevent us from falling over, the hip abductors lift the top leg and hip flexors are activated when we march! EVERYTHING is working to stabilize. You don’t have to do stereotypical “core” exercises like sit ups to get strong. Adding in stabilizing exercises like this is a real game changer. & if you really want defined abs I recommend eating tons of veggies and high protein along with these 😘 What’s your fav core exercise?
