TRAINING TIPS THURSDAY . It’s time to take a closer look on a new exercise. Today, we will go over PRISONER GET UP. . Similarly to squat it’s a knee dominant exercise with some hip flexion and extension. Having strong hip flexors and mobile hips will help dramatically. As well as thoracic spine mobility will be helpful but can be worked around by not keeping hands behind the head (and instead using a weight in front of the chest as counter balance ☝️) . Here I show some of the stretching/strengthening and mobility drills for hips and hip flexors. . Beginners, you can start mastering this exercise with TRX assistance. Also work on single leg strength (holding on to a stable object while squatting down on one leg) and stability (by not using a stable object and squatting down on one leg). . When ready, progress to front loaded prisoner get up (use a weight as a counter balance). And later, try a full version 👊 . If you still have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out 🤗 .
