‼️Posture Check‼️ Did you know poor posture can contribute to #pelvicpain and #pelvicfloordysfunction? One of the easiest ways we teach our patients to increase strength and decrease tone in their #pelvicfloor is through simple postural cueing to help you stack your head over your thorax, your thorax over your pelvis and your hips over your feet! Here are 4 easy steps to correct your posture from our master pilates instructor here at Sarton PT! (@kendel_pink_ ) 1️⃣Reach your legs down into the ground like tree roots 2️⃣Lift your torso up off your hips and lengthen the spine like a slinky 3️⃣Widen your collar bone and drop your shoulders. As you exhale, your ribs will melt toward your pelvis 4️⃣Position your head and allow it to float off your shoulders like a helium balloon ⚠️Notice when you slouch, your head juts forward, the mid back goes out, and your pelvis crawls under your hips. Slouching tends to inhibit the range of motion in your pelvic floor, which can ultimately lead to your #pelvicfloormuscles becoming hypertonic and weaker than they should be!! So homework for today: Pay attention to your posture.
